Our Quarterly Teatro Latino @RILA Pláticas were initiated in 2016 and co-facilitated by RILA and Trinity Repertory Company. With the success of Teatro en El Verano and as our list of Latinx actors grew, Orlando Hernández, Performing Arts Programs Coordinator at RILA, began convening weekly script readings while still leading the monthly pláticas .

Today, Orlando is joined by Tatyana-Marie Carlo and together, they are re-imaging the pláticas by adding a monthly series of Latinx Tech Hacks — workshops, discussions and informal conversations in a bilingual format geared specifically for Latinx playwrights, actors and theater makers.
Who can participate?
Anybody who is a practicing theater maker and identifies as Latinx, and currently lives, studies or has studied in Rhode Island.

How much does it cost to participate in the Pláticas?
There is no cost to be involved. We ask only that you sign up to be on our mailing list so you can receive invitations to our upcoming virtual events.
To participate and to receive a Zoom link, contact: Tatyana-Marie Carlo
The Teatro Latino @RILA Pláticas are made possible in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts, Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities.
