Happenings | Updates from RILA

30 events in 2018 to Celebrate 30 years.

It’s hard to believe, that
2018 marks RILA’s 30th Anniversary!

In the past 18 months, we’ve made some exciting changes at RILA with the addition of a Performing Arts Programs Coordinator and a Latino Books Month Coordinator.

This summer, we had a successful run of
La Tempestad | The Tempest, which marks our third year of Teatro en El Verano. We also launched a series of script readings that meet weekly to support and strengthen our Teatro Latino | Rhode Island initiative with Trinity Rep.

Nuestras Raíces, our community oral histories project, has received awards and recognition from the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP), the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities (RICH) and the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA). Woo hoo!

And let’s not forget the opening of
La Galería del Pueblo, our new cultural center in Central Falls, where we plan to host ongoing activities and programs, and to provide a venue for Rhode Island’s Latinx/Latino arts community.

We feel we’ve got a lot to celebrate and a lot more to share with all our supporters and friends.
Come and celebrate, join us as we kick-off a year-long celebration of RILA’s 30th Anniversary. Visit this
