Our gallery will become an interactive gallery in August. What does that mean?
• Dominos and Mexican Lotería games for the family inside La Galería, during gallery hours: FREE and open to all.
• Practice your Spanish and learn some fun, Latin-American cultural games.
• Drumming and and Open Air Cultural Bazaar on Saturdays, which will include the sale of Latin American artisan items and books created or written by local Latino artists. Artists demonstrations such as wooden carving, spray paint art and jewelry making.
• Art classes for beginners: There will be a nominal fee to cover arts supplies and to pay our instructors.

As a fierce ice storm rips through northern Minnesota, Katy and her mother wait restlessly for her father’s ship to return to their harbor in Duluth, Minnesota. Katy even creates her own secret code to help bring her father home safely. Storm Codes vividly combines historically based illustrations with nautical terms and descriptions. On ships, each flag means a different letter, and flags together can spell words.
